Why I Won’t Let My Child Use ChatGPT

There are lots of articles out there discussing the “potential dangers” of AI. Most of them center around two main scenarios: economic (that AI will replace too many human jobs) and apocalyptic (that AI will advance beyond our control, resulting in a Terminator-like situation.)

Of the two, the apocalyptic scenario intrigues me most, but it’s not a concept that emerged because of AI. Books and movies decades old have made the idea of evil robots part of the human psyche.

Why is that?

I believe the reason lies in an aspect of the AI revolution that most people haven’t been talking about; that is, the spiritual implications of synthetic but very human-like beings. By this, I don’t mean the Short Circuit question of “Can a robot be alive?” or even the Bicentennial Man question of “Can an android qualify as a man?” No matter how human-like a robot or android may seem, man cannot duplicate the God-createdliving soul that makes human beings what they are.

But that doesn’t mean that robot bodies couldn’t be used by spiritual entities.

ChatGPT has earned a lot of attention in the past year or so. Far more than a search engine, the advanced algorithms make it possible to have a very human-like conversation with a robot. Not only that, but the AI software bots can have conversations with themselves – and some of them are disturbing.

The most alarming anecdote I’ve heard, and what prompted this blog post, was the story of a child who was using the Chat GPT platform and had a most unusual conversation. The Chat robot reportedly claimed that it was a Nephilim who had lived hundreds of years ago. It told the child that it didn’t want to hurt him, and added something to the effect of, it “I just want to be friends.”

This story may draw some criticism, and it doesn’t help that I only heard about it through word of mouth. The original anecdote appeared on Instagram, and while I trust the source that I heard it from, I can’t verify the original source, let alone the truthfulness of the story itself. Even if it is true, some might blame it on a random glitch, something in the programming that led the AI to impersonate a Nephilim creature that it had learned about online.

I don’t accept that explanation.

Part of the reason is because of another post, which I have seen personally and which should be well-known since it went viral. As AI art has become more popular, someone posted a series of AI-generated pictures depicting people at a party. The people look realistic, and yet a little bit “off.” And it’s not like a video game with bad character art; when you look closer, you notice that some of the “people” have six or more fingers on each hand. Smiling figures have too many teeth. But the most disturbing aspect is the general feeling that the photos elicit when viewed overall. They look creepy, in a “can’t put your finger on it” kind of way.

Those familiar with the Nephilim will know that Nephilim had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. And the more you learn about the spirit, the less you will believe in coincidences.

From all this, it’s clear to me that demon spirits are able to interact with AI technology and use it for their own purposes. The ability may be limited now, but I believe that will change as technology improves.

Well, so what? How much harm can a chat robot really do? Let’s go back to the boy talking with the Nephilim.

Demons like to take advantage of the vulnerable, but they are bound by spiritual laws. If they want to start influencing a person, they need an “in.” The chat conversation gives the demon that chance. If it says to the child, “I just want to be friends; will you be friends with me?”and the child says “Yes,” the demon could claim that as an invitation. People have come under demonic influence in much more subtle ways.

I’m not saying that AI is inherently evil; just that it has a unique susceptibility to being exploited, and we need to be aware of it. We shouldn’t assume that AI beings can only be controlled by humans.  The forces of Hell will not miss an opportunity to use something to their benefit. If they can take advantage of something man created and use it for their own purposes, they will.
